‘Postcards of War’
My enter to the 2020 Gallipoli Art prize has been accepted as a finalist. below is my artist statement for what is going to be a virtual exhibition during this Covid19 period.
War results in both unity and disunity.
I have appropriated images from both past and present to show the full gamut of human reaction to adversity.
My postcard images symbolise bravery, love, death, documentation, manipulation, incarceration, loss, hardship, honour, caring and remembrance.
