My pencil work entitled “Comraderie” has won the inaugural World War II Pacific Battles Exhibition – an exhibition and competition of artworks with a theme commemorating the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Kokoda Track campaign. My second entry “The humanity of the situation” was also purchased by the RSL sub branch to add to the permanent display following the response to the image from veterans and members of the public. Medium: Pencil on paper Dimensions: 297 x 420 mm (12″ x 16″).
I feel very passionate about these works. I want to depict how hard it must have been for our soldiers but also the human side. My research is just as interesting and exciting as doing the artwork.
