This is painting from a photograph I took of Dundeel winning the
Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Randwick in April 2014. This was to be his last race and as a three year old retired to Arrowfield Stud in the Hunter Valley as a six-time Group 1 winner with over $5.3 million in prizemoney.
One of the amazing statistics that Dundeel holds is that when he won the 2,400m Australian Derby in 2013, he ran the final 400 metres faster than Black Caviar in the T.J. Smith Stakes on the same day. You can watch the race at this link.
